One of our Creative Communication Network speakers, Carmen Coreas, delivered her presentation on domestic violence and sexual abuse, entitled “It Ends With You,” on May 11 at the New Beginning Center in Garland, Texas.
The Center is “dedicated to ending family violence through education, advocacy, counseling and support and we work tirelessly to help bring these free resources to our community. We have been a leader in the fight against domestic violence for over 30 years and the dedication of our community partners and generous donors make it possible for New Beginning Center to reach thousands of North Texans every year.” One of the Center’s sponsors is First United Methodist Church – Garland, where CCN President Karl J. Krayer is an active participant.
“It Ends With You” is a message of hope, renewal, and redirection for teens and women who have been victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence. Carmen’s incredible and heart-wrenching story of how she moved from abuse in her family and domestic relationships to a new positive and upbeat life will touch you. Her experiences will connect with you. Her message will give you direction with practical alternatives to put the past behind you, and focus on the future in order to live your life to its fullest. Carmen’s message will inspire you to:
- take control of your life,
- ask God for spiritual guidance, and
- implement positive steps to take in order to change your mental and physical outlook to redirect your life.
