We had a wonderful session this morning at the January First Friday Book Synopsis. What a great start to a new year! Over 110 folks joined us. I suspect some because they love Brené Brown. And, yes, Dare to Lead by Brené Brown is that good!
(I’ll soon be posting my lessons and takeaways from this book on this blog, along with my lessons and takeaways from This is Marketing by Seth Godin, the other book I presented).
Jim Young, a long time participant and great friend to our event, walked up and said “I have a good idea.” Well, it was not a good idea; it was a great idea! He said “I recommend that you present a synopsis of Nuts, the book about Herb Kelleher at the February First Friday Book Synopsis.” Well…at the death of Mr. Kelleher, it is a good time to look back at what he accomplished. And, he did accomplish so very much! So, at the February First Friday Book Synopsis, I will present my synopsis of the business book classic, Nuts! Southwest Airlines’ Crazy Recipe for Business and Personal Success, which tells the story of the remarkable Mr. Kelleher and Southwest Airlines.
In addition, Ed Savage, Director ISR Learning Operations, L3 Technologies, will be our guest presenter, presenting his synopsis of Leadership: In Turbulent Times by Doris Kearns Goodwin, the current #1 best seller on the New York Times list of best selling business books.
You will be able to register soon from the home page of this web site. Please add our February 1 gathering to your calendar, and plan to join us for another great morning of learning.
Here’s the flier with all the details.
